Who?

Everything in the film was animated by myself (Florian Maubach)

What?

The film is a short animated documentary about a journey from Kassel (Germany) across the baltic sea to the coast of Lithuania.

Why?

In 2011 I made a journey together with my girlfriend to visit her home country Lithuania. It was our first journey we did together. Afterwards I wanted to create a small reminder for myself. The film is like a personal Souvenir.

How?

The animation was done in Adobe Flash and was drawn on a small Wacom Cintiq. I animated straight forward. Frame by Frame. First I created the “planet” to have a constant surface on which I could draw. Afterwards the whole landscape were drawn very rough and the timing was set. In the last step the red bike and small details were added.

Next Project?

I am currently working on a 4 minute long short film about a knight and his wife. They are living together in a small house. The knight must defend them against the attack of enemy knights. As a reward, his wife feeds him very well.

Which animated film would you like to have made?

I really like the belgian series “Le Pic Pic et André”.
