Superdweebs
Who?
It was pretty much just me on this one, I wrote/designed/animated the whole thing. But I did outsource some talent in the form of Jonathan Mcloughlin (Sound Design) and Tony Stevens (Voice actor).
What?
Superdweebs is about two young boys who decide to battle it out to decide whose favourite superhero is the best. But one thing leads to another and their imaginations run away with them.

Why?
A lot of inspiration for Superdweebs came from Cartoon Network shows that I use to watch as a kid (Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Lab, Powerpuff Girls), but my main source of inspiration comes from John K. without a doubt, with Ren and Stimpy being my all time favourite show. Other than that, I’m a sucker for awesome sci-fi anime films like Akira and Ghost in the shell and I’d like to think I inject some of that influence in to my work. A man can dream!
How?
I started animating traditionally and inking in Toon Boom amd got about a third of the way through, but the deadline became too much and I had to switch to an all digital workflow using Toon Boom for pretty much everything. Post production was done in After Effects.

Next Project?
I am currently trying to set up a small animation studio titled ‘Studio BoomBoom’ with some of my class mates from university. http://www.studioboomboom.co.uk/
But on a personal note, I have decided for the moment I am going to commit most of my time to drawing and design, in the hopes of moving more towards the storyboarding/character/background design aspects of the animation process.

Which animated film would you like to have made?
I’d have to go with Akira, it’s one of the only films I can watch over and over. Plus, after seeing the line tests for the film, it made me want to weep.
