Who?

I made the whole movie, from the script to final edits. I took me about 7 months to make it.

What?

“J’ai arreté la mer” is the story of an old sailor back to his land… He arrived in a bar, but he has no money to pay a drink and pay with an old memory.

Why?

I had to make a one-minute-long movie as an exercice at Supinfocom School. The first inspiration is from the song “Tout arreter” by the french singer Renaud. Then, my other inspirations came from my own travellings… The purpose was really to think about the memories, the way we connect them to objects, and how intense can be a memory that suddenly come back to mind…

How?

Everything came first on paper, then I made and animated all in CG, using Maya. Textures and part of the backgrounds were made on photoshop, compositing made with Nuke and editing with Avid.

Next Project?

My next project is my graduation movie, that I’m currently making with 4 other students ! I can not tell too much about it, but be ready to see it next June!

Which Animated Fim do You Wish You could have made?

I really admire so many animated movie that I could list them all! But I could at least say “Second Reanaissance” by Mahiro Maeda, the movies by Pes, or the Pixar movies, in very different styles !
