Snow White – Appleocalypse

Snow White: Appleocalypse – A group project from students of The Hamburg Animation School. Daniel Leyva answered the questions about the making and inspiration for the film.

Who?
Daniel Leyva, Marika Hasse, Janina Putzker, Kim Nguyen, Regina Haselhorst, Ellena Korth, Thor Gunnar, Sabine Koops, Cosima Schmitz, Sebastian König, Cindy Fröhlich & Susanne Herzog.

What?
Prince Charming, a fairytale castle and no witch at sight. Sounds like a fairytale lifestyle… or maybe not

Why?
After school, the chances on working animation professionally are most of the time very low. so we decided to employ ourselves into doing shortfilms and gaining experience

How?
The film was made 100% digitally. For the background we used Photoshop and After Effects for the montage and compositing. The entire animation was done with Tvpaint.

Next Project?
We are currently working on some new cartoons. storyboarding and character designing has already begun, and we hope to be able to finish 2 shortfilms within a year.

Which animated film would you like to have made?
We all love the the movies from both Ghibli and Disney, so it would have been a joy to work on any of them.
