Hout
‘Hout’ is a short animation created by 2nd year animation students at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in the Netherlands. The entire project took five months to create.

Hout (Wood) tells the story of a retired woodcrafter living his remaining days in a snow coated forest, fulfilling his passion: constructing wooden animals.
From the start our intention was to step away from the classic narrative structure and to tell the story like it were some sort of documentary (interview). So we looked at alot of videos where people talk about their craft, hobbies, etc. and took inspiration from these for this film.
Currently we’re all doing our third year internship.
