Crisis
Crisis by Jack Fitzgerald, Jack speaks to us about his film below…
What?
Revolution subconsciously refers us to images of violence. However the changes that are happening now within western Europe seem to slide under our feet as the we sit in the back seat. Orwell predicted these times of change and how we would rise up against the powers that control, he was right about one of these things at least. Crisis is about the effect of new technology, social media and constant growth of the invisible powers from the escapist angry deranged youth who lives down your street.

Why?
My inspiration for crisis was based on mixture of different fears and irritations in my day to day life. I needed to get a few things off my chest. I’m a great fan of Don Hertzfeldt and David Firth, they provided me with some energy to get the project rolling.
How
The Film was made from around 600 a4 papers, all were drawn by hand, frame by frame. The paper was “borrowed” from the printer in the computer room at my school,
“In times of Crisis we must fight to produce”

Next Project
My next project is still in the initial stages of production, theres a few scripts and sketches floating around with a lot of potential.
Which film would like to have made?
I don’t really wish I had made anybody else’s work, but one of my favourites is “Everything will be ok” by Don Hertzfeldt, pure dedication to format and with such a dry, humorous melancholic attitude, perfect!
