What?
A young mad scientist sets out to create a pet monster within parallel worlds of an imaginary laboratory and the reality of the boy’s bedroom.
Why?
My initial inspiration into stop motion was the Rankin/Bass special, Rudolph. I loved those Christmas specials, and it got me started making Lego movies with my brother, John, at an early age.
How?
The film was all made with stop motion animation. Since there were two words, I built two equal-but-opposite sets. I shot it all in my dorm room, reducing my bed to a mattress leaned against the wall.

Next Project?
I just recently finished working on LAIKA’s new feature film, ParaNorman, and am now animating on the Adult Swim tv show, Robot Chicken.
Which animated film would you like to have made?
Rugrats, all the way.
