Anisocoria

Anisocoria by Dan Warrilow, Graduate from Staffordshire University.

Who?
The film was Animated and directed by myself (Dan Warrilow) with the Soundtrack produced by Levi Debbonaire.

What?
The dreams of a hospital patient under the influence of a strong hallucinogenic drug. Conveyed through metamorphosis, and animated using a combination of 2-dimensional and stop-motion techniques.

Why?
I created this animation for my final end of the year degree module at Staffordshire University.

How?
This film was constructed with hand drawn animation, and Strata Cut stop motion techniques. I was inspired to use Strata Cut within my animation by an American stop motion animator called David Daniels, because I like the abstract look and fast paced style he has within his work. I love experimenting with patterns, colours and mixed media. This technique was also good excuse to play with plasticine! I chose to draw over the top with metamorphic images because I enjoy the fluid transitions it creates within doing so, while having the freedom to draw what I want.
