London-based animation and interactive studio Animade have just released a compilation of their latest in-house series, Animade Propz. Wonderfully weird and slightly disturbing, the 10 animations are each based on a single prop and created by a different member of the team.
For ten consecutive weeks Animade asked their fans and followers to suggest a prop on social media, with the winning object drawn from a hat every Monday. ‘Mustard’, ‘Ball Sack’ and ‘Fridge’ were among those that turned from silly word to animated short in just 2 working days.
The original concept for Animade Propz came out of the studio’s desire to follow up its previous series of shorts, Lernz. The animation team initially gathered and started throwing ideas around, eventually boiling them down to as simple a concept as possible – a single prop.
