Three’s A Crowd needs your Help
Three’s a crowd is a ten minute stop-motion animation written by award winning animator, Trevor Hardy (FoolHardy Films) currently seeking your help via Kickstarter to complete its production.
The film will be very different to other stop-motion films, with more edge and drama. Director Trevor Hardy appeals directly to his audience in his pitch and states…
“Animation tends to be very ‘childlike’ in its approach. By that I don’t mean it’s solely for children, what I mean is, it tends to be soft around the edges, generally safe and friendly. I wanted to create something different, something more drama based. Up until now, finding funding for an animated film like this has been virtually impossible. But, then comes along the fantastic KickStarter. Fantastic because it allows everyday people to put in small sums of cash that when combined, become large sums of cash, but without all the usual TV/film funding issues. You can write a script that is different, something that is story led. It’s animated yes, but not soft, fluffy and childlike. Neither is it, crass, crude and abrasive. This is a story that is new and fresh that doesn’t have to have potential marketing deals behind it, it doesn’t have to have guaranteed viewing figures or merchandising rights before any one will back it. It is right back to basics. YOU! The person sat at home! You simply look at it, think, yeah, I like the look of that, it may go somewhere, I’ll chuck in a fiver, why not!
That is the beauty of KickStarter.
‘Three’s a Crowd’ is a fantastic story, superb characters, it’s new, it’s fresh and it’s already in production. You can help to finish this fantastic short film and take ‘Three’s a Crowd’ around the world. It could be the start of a new way of writing animation. So, if you have faith in me and like my ideas, then PLEASE, throw a fiver into ‘Three’s a Crowd’. Massive, huge, enormous thanks.”
