Linden Tar – Russian stop motion animation launches crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter
Linden Tar is a stop-motion animated movie short with overall running time of 5 minutes. This is the story about overcoming your fears and realizing you don’t have to do everything by yourself. Our hero will be forced to leave the comfort of his home and face the huge world that lives by unknown laws and is filled with dangers. But what would happen if he opens his heart to this world?
Currently the creators have finished pre-production stage and have launched actual production. They also have some dolls and sets, a movie script and an animatic, a work schedule for 8 months and 1 minute of the actual movie footage and a deadline – 15th February is the last day of application submissions for the Annecy International Animated Film festival.
The team is inspired by the works of Quay Brothers as well as Jan Švankmajer and is conducting their own investigations of textures, materials and fresh edges of familiar items.
All the puppets and sets featured in the movie are made from materials that have been bought on flea markets, found on road sides or dragged in by a cat. Every small detail shown has its own history and the pockets of the folks at Linden Tar are full of tinted glass shards, feathers, beads and other trinkets they will gladly present to every backer.
