Encounters Festival is the UK’s leading short film and animation festival and it’s call for entries are now open. The festival discovers, supports and develops new talent in filmmaking, providing a platform and meeting place for emerging and established filmmakers from around the world.

Encounters Festival presents one of the world’s leading International Competitions for short films and animation, and is also a gateway to the world’s most prestigious awards: The Oscars®, BAFTAs, European Film Awards and Cartoon d’Or.
Are you a filmmaker? Have you made a short film? Would you like to screen your short film at the UK’s leading short film festival?
Encounters accepts films from every genre, including animation, documentary, drama, experimental, music or artist film, under 30 minutes long. Also accepted for 2017 are new categories Virtual Reality, Augumented Reality and 360 degree storytelling.
The international competition screens over 200 films from across the world, and the shortlisted films are in with a chance of wining one of our prestigeous awards, up to £10,000 in cash prizes and the chance to qualify for The Oscars®, BAFTAs, European Film Awards and Cartoon d’Or.
