A Liar’s Autobiography trailer
The trailer for the upcoming animation feature length A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman has hit the web. The film directed by Ben Timlett, Bill Jones, and Jeff Simpson, used 17 different animation styles and 14 different studios to create its mixed-media animation sequences: A for Animation, ArthurCox, Beakus, Cake, Made Visual Studio, Mr & Mrs, Not To Scale, Peepshow, Sherbet, Steven Lall, Superfad, Treat Studios, Trunk and Tundra.
The film is based on the true (well not strictly speaking) life story of Graham Chapman, probably best remembered as “the dead one from Monty Python,”. Although Chapman died in 1989, he had record himself reading his book whose name the film shares, “A Liar’s Autobiography”, and those recordings have now been used to provide Chapman’s voice for the feature. Four more fellow Pythons also join Graham; John Cleese, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam playing themselves and other characters, along with a few surprise guests.
After debuting this coming weekend at Toronto International Film Festival A Liar’s Autobiography — The Untrue Story of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman will hit select U.S. theatres in 3D on November 2, 2012, the film will be released in the UK by Trinity in early 2013.
Looking forward to seeing this one, even Graham himself says “it’s the best film I’ve been in since I’ve died.”
