Bakker Nixvan
Bakker Nixvan by Johan Ten Woude, Dieuwer Feldbrugge, Tim De Haan, Rutgher Jousma & Chris den Dulk from the Utrecht School of Art and Technology. Johan took the time to tell us a bit about their short film below…
WHO?
Tim de Haan has been directing the animation. Rutgher Jousma has mostly been focussing on the rigging. Dieuwer Feldbrugge did most of the compositing and rendering. Chris den Dulk made the music. And I (Johan ten Woude) have been working on the looks and textures. Although we all had our own tasks, we all did help each other with every task that needed to be done. For example, while texturing was my primary focus, I was not the only one who made them. All 4 contributed to it. That way no one was doing nothing, and it was a nice way for us to discover what we really like to do.
WHAT?
Bakker Nixvan is a short animation about the struggles of an amusingly incompetent baker who by laziness and impatience sabotages his own actions everywhere he goes.
WHY?
We are studying at the Utrecht School of Art and Technology. This was the animation we were working on during the second half of the second year. We didn’t finish in time so we had to continue working on it in the holidays. We are really happy we went trough with it and finished it.
HOW?
Modeling & Animation was done in Maya, textures were made in Photoshop. Compositing and editing in Nuke, Premiere & After Effects. Mostly we have been working on our laptops with a second monitor attached.
NEXT PROJECT?
We are currently doing internships for a couple of months. We don’t know what our next project will be. I personally would really like to make another short animation. Most probably start working on one in the 4th year of school.
WHICH ANIMATED FILM WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE MADE?
in great contrast to Bakker Nixvan, I would like to have been part of LOOM. I love the realistic rendering. And for me it’s just an impressive short animation to look at.
