Mitch Papineau animated and directed this Japanese author Haruki Murakami-inspired animated video for “Wind Up Bird” by Octoberman.“I read book in 3 days,” director/animator Papineau says. “I needed to understand why Marc made an amazing song about this book and I soon found reading it extremely addictive. From there I wanted to create art that complemented the song’s moods, swings, and story. As an animator and director, I could not have asked for a better song and book to develop ideas from.”
