Ned is a dreamer. Most people would consider his life to be rather boring or ordinary, but Ned flexes his imagination and finds the fantastical in his nine-to-five job. One day, while typing in his office cubicle, something rather extraordinary happens to Ned that could change the course of his life forever…or until lunchtime.

Directors Notes

Nine to Five Ned is a hybrid of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional paper stop motion animation. It’s a story written for my kids, that ended up concluding with an ending based on my (then) 3-year-old son’s suggestion for a finale. The style is paper cut out animation with a Cartoon Modern character design.

Ned was produced by Paper Brain, a micro-boutique for animation in Houston, Texas. We’ve recently made animations for Sesame Street, Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street, and Bizaardvark, but we plan on producing more of our own content like we did here for Ned in the future.
