Mandala by Natalia Caballero

Lose yourself in this meditative short from Natalia Caballero. In discussing the piece Caballero states:

“The driving vision behind this piece is fueled by my passion of experimenting with the relationship between abstract design, sound and motion. Inspired by the meditative practices of the Hindu and Buddhist religion, I created a series of mandalas with my own personal twist. Every shape in each mandala was visualized during deep meditation, leaving my conscious with no control of the outcome. Unlike traditional guided imagery, my short film presents a new way to approach meditation in order to enter an individualized state of hypnosis. Through meditation, we can take a break from the stresses and negative energies realities throws at us and have a better understanding of our thoughts, feelings and imagination.”

Caballero further elaborates on the making of the piece and says:

“I made this film as a way to enter a guided meditation. These shapes and colors are meant to help you enter a state of trance and relaxation. I drew all the mandalas by hand then edited them using Illustrator. Then I brought all the layers into AfterEffects and connected all the movements and music solely just listening and watching the timeline.”
