The Esoteric Birthday Seeks Crowdfunding Aid
The Esoteric Birthday is an artistic and experimental animated digital feature film currently being produced by Interdimensional Studio, an animation studio based in San José, Costa Rica, recently founded by visual artists and animation directors Guillermo Tovar C. and Nadia Mendoza A.
It is the first to of its kind to ever come out of Costa Rica, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean, and one of the first to ever come out of Latin America.
The Esoteric Birthday tells the story of the coming of age of a peculiar little girl. She is about to become a powerful witch, but first she must undergo a ceremony of initiation, which involves a series of dangerous trials, both physical and spiritual. It all takes place in a mysterious and fantastical tropical island, with over fifty characters, including a group of intergalactic witchdoctors, a religious sect of wild animals, two Amazonian warrior twins, and lots more.
The Esoteric Birthday is a fantastic story, but it is also an esoteric manifesto. It belongs to the esoteric fantasy genre.
It is an independent low budget film, 99% has been produced solely by Tovar and Mendoza. It is expected to be completed by December 2013. After it makes the festival run The Esoteric Birthday will be posted on line to view free of charge.
