Smith & Foulkes direct new Honda Campaign
Nexus directors Smith & Foulkes have returned to Honda to create an immersive “through-the-ages” advert campaign for Honda to launch the all-new HR-V Crossover using the magic of CG. The campaign comprises of two commercial films, Give and Take and Great Thinking Inside to take viewers on a journey of discovery through not only Honda but design; a small change can make a huge difference.
Give and Take looks at ‘balance’; we all know when something doesn’t look quite right but how do you make sure your adjustments result in something perfectly proportioned? The film playfully uses people’s faces to show how every change has an impact.
Great Thinking Inside takes us through a journey of discovery. We open with a vintage 1974 Honda Civic CVCC, the camera pulls back as two halves of a car sneak up from behind until completely engulfing the Civic and transforming it into a 1979 Accord. We watch multiple alterations through the addition and removal of parts showing the Honda family in all its glory; a 1988 CRX, 1993 Prelude, 1996 CR-V and 2011 Element. Finally, the car dramatically bursts out of the shell of the Element revealing its final format; the all new HR-V Crossover. The camera does a 360-degree rotation around and through the HRV until the car revs and drives off frame.
