Henry Selick has been choosen by Disney to direct The Graveyard Book after picking up the rights to Niel Gaiman’s book. Selick previously directed Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach, and was also the man behind the Oscar nominated feature Coraline, which was also based on a book by Neil Gaiman.
The Graveyard Book is a children’s fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman. The story is about a boy named Nobody Owens who, after his family is murdered, is adopted and raised by the occupants of a graveyard. Think of it as a dark and eerie Jungle Book.
Selick is also currently working on a project for Pixar, so we can all look forward to a whole host of Selick inspired work to hit our screens soon.
