Happy Birthday Animate Projects

Animate Projects is celebrating its 5th Birthday this year. Animate Projects is the only arts charity in the UK dedicated to championing experimental animation and has supported an array of animation talent since 2007.

In its first 5 years Animate projects has commissioned 56 artists, worked with 66 UK and international organisations, presented 245 films, 109 articles and 131 interviews on animateprojects.org, won 30 awards including 5 BAA’s, reached over 744,000 people showing Animate films at events worldwide, broadcast to more than 620,000 viewers on Channel 4, and welcomed over 1million viewers to animateprojects.org

Phew! Here’s to another 5 years of Animate and hopefully many more after that. Animate Projects key mission is to maintain the Animate Collection, the premier online archive of experimental animation made in the past 22 years. To do so they need funds to keep the collection alive and online. Animate projects is soon to be launchng CEL, a fundraising project offering limited edition prints donated by Animate Commissioned artists.
