‘Despicable Me 3′ Release Date Announced
According to this Variety report Universal has dated Illumination Entertainment’s “Despicable Me 3″ for June 30, 2017. The second film in the franchise “Despicable Me 2,” which opened in July last year has so far grossed $935.8 million worldwide.
The studio also dated two other Illumination Entertainment titles: A new version of “Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas” for Nov. 17, 2017, and an untitled Illumination project for Dec. 21, 2016.
“Seuss” will be directed by Pete Candeland and adapted by Michael LeSieur. The film will be produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy and exec produced by Audrey Geisel.
The untitled film is an animated comedy about courage, competition and carrying a tune. It will be written and directed by Garth Jennings (“Son of Rambow,” “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”) and produced by Meledandri and Healy.
