AniJam Winner 2016

After a three weeks of frantic voting and much deliberation by our judges the AniJam winner has been decided. This years theme for the 48 hour animation challenge was ENCOUNTER and we had 4 teams their socks off during late July to successfully submit a completed film, with a 5th team finishing shortly behind outside the 48 hours. The efforts of every team once again was outstanding, which made deciding a winner extremely difficult and thier were split opinions amongst the judges. However, one film did manage to get two votes to take a majority and that winning films is Tiny Encounters by Dani Abram, Lauren Orme, Michael Ostrolenk, Christopher Wright.
Tiny Encounters
The winning film was deciding by a panel of four Judges including Jake Hobbs (Show Me The Animation), Kieran Argo (Encounters Film Festival), Rich Warren (Encounters Film Festival), and an audience vote. A breakdown of the voting included below:
Judge 1: Squet
Judge 2: Tiny Encounters
Judge 3: Le Pigeon
Judge 4 Audience Vote: Tiny Encounters
As winners the ‘Tiny Encounters’ team will receive free passes to this years Encounters Film Festival in September, while our other teams don’t go unrewarded and will each receive 50% off passes to the festival. All of the films will also begin screening on the Millennium Square Big Screen in Bristol as of September.
From everyone here at Show Me The Animation we would like to thank all of the teams for participating in this years AniJam. We were truly amazed at the standard of films produced within the time frame so our congratulations go out to all of you.
We would also like to thank everyone of you who voted online in helping with a tough decision making process in choosing an overall winner. Finally we offer a huge thank-you to Encounters Film Festival for all their help in organising the event and providing prizes for out participating teams.
