A Wing, A Prey, A Song – Collaboration Opportunity
Writer is looking for an artist/illustrator/animator to collaborate on a new theatre visual projection project: A WING, A PREY, A SONG. This theatre drawing/animation project proposal has been selected for Yinka Shonibare’s Guest Projects Africa Residency; 21st-31st October 2013 at his East London studio. It will culminate in 2 performance play readings projection events to showcase to London industry professionals.
A WING, A PREY, A SONG is a theatre project experimenting in a gallery space. 2D charcoal drawings of migratory bird life, animated and projected onto three walls surrounding the vast studio space, will carry the bird film narrative in and out of a 60 min drama focusing on the claustrophobic bedsitter intertwining and fateful lives of three insecure migrants from sub Sahara Africa.
The drama will be directed by London based award winning director of Call Me Mr Robeson, Olusola Oyeleye.
N.B. The play has been drafted. There is a scene by scene and image working template, (story board) for the illustrator/animator to cost.
Writer is looking for someone who is enthusiastic, works professionally, sees this as an development opportunity, has the time to see this project through the next six months of development, has the relevant skills and experience, has experience of collaboratively working on writing projects, will co work on the budget, funding applications to support a successful showcase. Ros Martin is an award winning playwright; a film maker and performance artist.
